Abbie’s Fund Have-a-go

BCCB held a have-a-go for a very good cause last night (23/09/2015) Abbie’s Fund. Please read below how this cause came about.  Paul the author of the below statement is also our BCCB Web Designer and many thanks go to him for the update of our site and also to correct the occasional errors I make.

We set up Abbie’s Fund in memory of our daughter Abbie who was born sleeping on 1st October 2010, to raise money to provide memory boxes for the Maternity Unit at Hull Royal Infirmary’s Women and Children’s Hospital, to give to parents who have also lost babies. Through the process of putting together our memory box for Abbie in the days and weeks following her death we have been able to create memory boxes, complete with keepsakes, that can be given to parents at the start of their journey.

Money is raised by ourselves and by parents and families who have received one of Abbie’s boxes organising and participating in events.  Involvement and support from local organisations such as BCCB is a huge help to us and we are very grateful to them for providing this fantastic prize that was won on our stand at this year’s Hull Motor Show.

Through the efforts of everyone who has raised money for us we are also supplying Abbie’s boxes to other units that work with children at Hull Women and Children’s Hospital and Hull Royal Infirmary, and to other local hospitals.

For us, providing this service helps us achieve something positive and allows Abbie’s memory to live on and we thank BCCB for helping us to do this.

For more information on what we do, please follow us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/abbiesfund, or on our website at www.abbiesfund.co.uk
